Habitat for Humanity of Ontario County is excited to announce an affiliate Global Village trip!
Please consider joining HFH of Ontario County on a trip to Asuncion, Paraguay from January 10 – January 19, 2020. During this trip, you will work with the local community to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Staff and volunteers from affiliates across the state are encouraged to attend!
Paraguay is facing a housing deficit greater than a million homes, and this deficit is expected to continue to grow. Currently, 43 out of 100 families are living in inadequate and overcrowded conditions, and approximately half of all the houses in Paraguay can be classified as inadequate. Habitat for Humanity Paraguay counteracts these challenges by partnering with future homeowners to provide housing solutions that best fit their individual needs.
The volunteer team will work alongside masons, translators and future homeowners to build a new home from the ground up. The cultural portion of the trip will include The Harp School, a Paraguayan BBQ, and a city tour of Asuncion.
