NYS Affiliates Ramp Up Advocacy Efforts

Over the last several weeks, Habitat NYS advocacy efforts have been a central focus for many affiliates across the state. We would first like to thank the Habitat advocates that joined us for our NYS Advocacy Week as well as those that represented New York State at Habitat on the Hill. Both events were held virtually (yes, more Zoom windows), but we were excited that this opportunity led to more participants in both events than we’ve ever seen before!

These advocacy efforts are critically important to help drive policy changes that support our mission and daily operations – additionally, it’s a great chance to elevate our profile with lawmakers, deepen our relationships, and become an informational resource that they can rely on.

We sincerely appreciate the advocacy efforts of all the Habitat affiliates that participated in these two events:

  • Buffalo
  • Capital District
  • Cayuga County
  • Chautauqua Area
  • Chemung County
  • Columbia County
  • Dutchess County
  • Flower City
  • Genesee County
  • Greater Newburgh
  • Lockport
  • New York City & Westchester County
  • Niagara
  • Northern Saratoga, Washington, and Warren Counties
  • Ontario County
  • Oswego County
  • Schenectady County
  • Steuben County
  • Suffolk County
  • Tompkins-Cortland
  • Ulster County

Keep an eye out for more opportunities to join us as the #CostOfHome campaign gains momentum in New York State.
